Review-

First I just want to give a little shout out to Giselle from Xpresso Reads, for reminding me this book was coming out thru her Fresh Batch Saturday Weekly Post. If your anything like me, you totally forget what new books are coming out each week. Well, since I've been visiting her post, every week (stalker) I know now the best books that are coming out for the following week! Thanks Giselle, for taking the time to post my favorite meme of the week! :)

O.K. onto the review!

Wicked Nights was the first book by Gena that I've read, having yet to start her popular LOTU world series, I know, I'm probably missing out on some hot warriors because we get a slight appearance by some of them in this book, and they sound interesting!
Even though this book is a spin-off of the LOTU series, it can be read without reading the LOTU series.

Right from the start, this book grabbed me and I was hooked!

Annabelle goes thru a horrific crime, lucky to have her life intact, but not really so lucky as to be blamed for the crime! I really felt bad for Anna, right from the start and wondered how she was going to get out of the mess she got into.
Anna is deemed insane and has to live in a hospital for the criminally insane. She is abused, sexually and mentally, and is visited by otherworldly demonic creatures, who also torture her. These creatures can only be seen by her and not by the any other human. Annabelle does her best to fight them off and succeeds most of the time but, new creatures keep springing up, until one day Annabelle sees  something different, an angel has come to her room as well as a demonic creature. This angel and his army has come to rid the area of these creatures. Curious as to how and why this human can see these creatures as well as himself, he becomes her savior of sorts and whisks her away from her tortures state.

Zacharel, angel and leader of an army of angels, is sent out on missions to protect humans. Although, they do take out human casualties, once in awhile they are"good" angels, that have a "bad boy" appeal to them, which makes them yummy!
Strong, powerful, protective, and sexy -sign me up!
Zacharel, is a virgin, which is a little weird, at first, considering he's "ancient", and he has a hard time dealing with his feelings at first when it comes to Anna, but slowly he starts to care for her, even though she is "marked" by a demon. When your "marked' by a demon you are basically theirs, a sort of partner. Anna never agreed, to being this demon's other half, she doesn't understand why, this all happened to her, but the reason why is a big part of the story, and actually shows that this demon has been planning a long time to get to Zacharel. Now, I don't want to give the whole story away, so I'll just say this book was pretty darn good as far as an Angel book, it didn't have a ton of action in it, nor did it have a ton of romance, but it did have a good mystery, to it. One of those mysteries, that you will look back at the beginning and say "Oh, that's why this happened".

Although this book had highs and lows for me, I would of loved more action(cuz, I'm an action girl)
I really enjoyed the ending the most and will continue on with this series. The next book will feature the angel Koldo, who I found very appealing...

  1. OK, I mean... the cover, and the book and the... EVERYTHING. This sounds HOT. I haven't read anything by Gena--Alice in Zombieland will be my first, but... uh... seriously, I think I'm going to get the ebook. Seriously, I'm not even kidding, you have me so excited for this book! *runs off*

  3. I've never read Showalter's LoTU series, and I didn't know this is a spin-off. For some reason, Wicked Nights interests me in a way the other series never has. It could be that cover! I'm glad you enjoyed this. Nice review!
