Angelfall ~Susan Ee

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again

This book was recommended to me, and I was quite leery to actually read it. I went to Amazon and checked reviews and ratings and was quite surprised about all the fanfare about this book. This is not something I usually would read but decided to take the plunge and "click" that buy now button. At .99 it was beyond worth the investment.
I started reading this book and became swept up into it. I read it in under 8hrs. and it actually kept me from doing much else today. I cannot begin to explain the way this book sucks you into the world of unknown and makes you lose all sense of time. An exciting totally different read for me.

This books main character, Penryn a girl who is strong, determined, and smart. Trying to keep her family together and surviving during grueling times. The world is basically ending and human surviors are scarce. Survival instincts are kicked in, and as a warrior going into unknown territory she must do all she can to survive. Angels are invading Earth as the end of the world has neared. Angels are feared and have become killers to men. Paths are crossed and Penryn comes face to face with the very "demons" that are destroying all of mankind. Raffe, the Angel in white, is her savior, as well as she is his. Can she get past all she feared to save her family, and work with the fearful Raffe?  Rollercoaster of events, some gruesome aspects, and a story that will have you sucked in from the first chapter. As a self published book, it's an outstanding edited, well written book.

**I read this book in less then 8 hrs. It was a great read. It had me engrossed in the story within a few pages. Susan Ee's writing style is engrossing, fast paced, and a touch of horror but not overwhelming. I am not a horror book lover to say the least, but I could easily tolerate the pieces of the horror that is entwined in the story.

  2. A great, fun and fast read. Started and read it in a few sittings because just didn't want to put it down. Fantasy drama, but with a realistic and modern feel. It keeps you connected, but takes you to a darker and tougher world from the saftey of your couch.
Sounds like there will be more to the series, and really fun to get started now and looking forward to more.

Highly recommended Bellevue Janitorial Services website
