Not a usual read for me, this short middle grade novella, has a great storyline, and features a touchy subject-Death. The Realm Of The Lost, was just that, a realm where dead people who die before their time must go to. A wondrous, strange place filled with people and creatures of today and yesterday. A Realm, that teaches and one must learn the lessons that were meant to learn on earth.

Kathleen-Kat's death has come before her time, now she is thrusted into this realm and must journey with Rosario and Mickey, two young people who have been in the realm for some time. They look after and try to teach Kat the way of the realm. They become her family in this realm.  Each step, each decision is a journey to finding the lessons needed to be free of the realm. The lessons Kat must learn, have to do with her family back on earth, especially with her sister. Her younger sister, Ellie and her have not been getting along on earth when Kat's untimely death causes her to believe it was her sister's fault, on why Kat has died. Will Kat learn her lesson's and be free from the realm, is what you must read to see the journey and where Kat finally ends up.
