Hey guys, welcome to my blog tour stop, from YA BOUND for The Collector by Victoria Scott. I read and reviewed The Collector and can say that I did enjoy that sinful, little devil. See my full thoughts below!

Book Tour: Review 4/5

The Collector (Dante Walker #1)
From Entangled Teen
Release Date: April 2nd, 2013
Paperback/e-book
400 pages

 He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried

A fast-paced, story that will have you from the first pages. Filled with sarcasm, humor, and a sexy bad boy, that will have you wishing he popped up on your doorstep!

Dante starts off this book in a totally cocky, arrogant way, but not in a total jerky way. He comes across as one of those guys who think they are it, but you can't hate this guy, no matter what he says.

Dante is a demon, a living, walking, collector of souls. He works for the big man, no, not the good one the totally demonic one. His job is simple, yet complex. Do something bad and you get a piece of your soul marked, and basically the devil wants your soul, so the more bad humans do, the better for the devil, and in turn the better for Dante. Being a soul collector seems like the ideal job, you get great perks, and I mean come on, your immortal! But, Dante wants more, he wants a promotion, and the only way to get it is to collect the most souls. His "boss" the big one wants him to collect the soul of a seventeen year old girl, named Charlie, sounds simple enough, right? Well...

Charlie doesn't make it easy for Dante. I mean she really isn't making it hard for him per se, but she's a good person, and if Dante wants to collect her soul, he's going to have to get this naïve, sweet girl to do some bad things, to be able to mark her. Charlie is sweet, but like I said she's naïve and basically a dork. She's not the prettiest, girl, and she is definitely  not popular. She has heart, and has been through a rough time in her young life. She's very forgiving, but kind of slow at times on the up take.

One thing Dante was not expecting was how this girl, is slowly mixing up his feelings. Like ice being chipped away with a hammer, Charlie seems to be breaking down his exterior, and she does it so naturally, it's screwing with Dante's head, big time. With Dante on a time frame of only ten days to collect this girl soul, it proves to him, this won't be as easy as it looks, and she may be the first person to throw a monkey wrench in his plans, for ever. Plus, throw in some mysterious elements surrounding this girl, and why it seems Dante has a collector basically stalking him, and screwing up his game. Makes for some exciting reading as you'll be trying to figure out the pieces of this puzzle.

The author, Miss Scott did a good job at enveloping you into the story. It's fast paced, and will have you finishing the book within a day or two. Her characters are likable, and have a way of getting under your skin. As far a young adult reads, this is a fun, lighthearted read that will have you comparing Dante to other characters in young adult books, like Daemon of Obsidian.  The only thing that many may find off, is the way these two main characters have little to no spark at first for each other. Dante comes off as a jerk at times, and says some crude things, but as his walls start crumbling we see bits and pieces of the good that still lies under his demonic skin.

4/5 Young Adult Roses

The Liberator Dante Walker #2

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves

Can love survive when life gets Reckless?

When the band hits it big, Kiera and Kellan must ask themselves: Can their love for each other survive the constant pressures of superstardom? The friendships they've formed, the new family they've found, and the history they've forged will all play a part in helping them navigate the turbulent waters of the band's exploding popularity. A greedy executive hell-bent on success, a declining pop star looking for an edge, and a media circus that twists lies into truths are just some of the obstacles the lovers will have to overcome if they are going to remain together. Kellan and I held hands as we stared up at the red neon glowing with the words Pete’s Bar. It was almost hard to believe that it was just a little over two years ago that I had first lain eyes on Kellan here. He’d seemed like such a player, and I suppose he was back then, but there was a surprising amount of depth to this ex-player.

As I was reminiscing, Kellan bumped my shoulder. “Did I ever tell you that I noticed you the second you walked into Pete’s with Denny?”
I looked up at him, surprised. “Really? While you were playing? With all of those people in the bar?”

Walking backwards, Kellan pulled me towards the double doors to the large, rectangular building. “Yep. It was like an electric current zipped around the room when you stepped through the doors. Like I knew I’d never be the same from that moment forward.”

He gave me a crooked grin. I rolled my eyes. “That did not happen. You noticed Denny. I seriously doubt you noticed me.”
Kellan stopped walking and I stepped into his chest. Being here, in the parking lot of Pete’s with him, felt just as much like home to me as our little, white two-story place. “I could barely pull my eyes away from you. Just glancing at you made my head feel lighter, made my stomach…tingle. Watching you was…life-changing.”

I couldn’t help but be moved by his words. Then I remembered his very suggestive performance. I gave him a sly grin. “And yet, you still managed to mentally undress every female in your audience.”
Kellan laughed as he resumed walking. “Yeah, okay, I’ll give you that one.” He cocked a brow at me. “I did notice you, though.” His eyes scanned my face. “How could I not?”

.Blog Tour:Furthermore #Interview #Giveaway @LMichaelBooks Leigh Michael

A first date, a lottery, treachery and deceit. Sometimes fate has other plans. Sometimes there’s more to tell.

In Furthermore: An Anthology, eighteen original stories take you on a journey through worlds here and beyond. From the depths of the earth to the embrace of the sea, your favorite series continue. Prequels, alternative views, and new scenes give readers a chance to experience more than originally told.

Including stories from Rebekah Campbell, Amber Garr, David Estes, Leigh Michael, Karen Amanda Hooper, Stephanie Judice, and Mayandree Michael. And most importantly, in honor of those who lost the battle and those who continue to fight, all proceeds from this anthology will be donated to cancer research and support.

Could you tell us a little about Annabelle’s Story?

Annabelle's Story is my debut series into the fantasy world and, I gotta say, it’s been a blast. The tale is a three parter: Sprite, Kin, and Fate.

Annabelle’s Story a fast-paced adventure with lots of twists and turns and a touch of romance. Much of the background is based on Greek mythology and folklore, but the story is set in present day.

How would you describe the MC, Annabelle?

Annabelle is our protagonist who quickly realizes that she’s more than just human. As a descendant of some really important people (ahem, Greek Gods), she also happens to be the only one who can fulfill a prophecy started long ago.

As you turn each page, you’ll get to know Annabelle better. When her story begins, she’s led somewhat of a sheltered existence. That all changes in a heart beat.

She’s thrown into a new world where she must internalize all the ups and downs she faces, including a complicated love life.

Did a lot of research go into Annabelle’s Story?

Yes. A ton. I enjoy this part of the writing process. I get somewhat of a high when the pieces start falling together. My husband thinks I’m crazy when I ramble about how part A works perfectly with part B and how part C fits in.

I put together a document that breaks down a lot of the folklore and mythology in Annabelle’s Story. Feel free to grab it here.

What’s one of your favorite passages from Sprite (Annabelle’s Story Part One)?

“It was odd; people have always said that your life flashed before your eyes when you die.

But mine didn’t. All I thought about was a story I’d heard as a lifeguard — from a guy who drowned and was brought back to life through CPR. He said after a few minutes he gradually sunk. It was because little by little all the air had left his lungs. He felt his lungs aching to be replenished, making his heart quicken.

Then the only thing left for him to do was inhale. He had no choice, his body instinctively breathed. It didn’t matter that he was under water. But after he did, the water burned his throat as it went down, it filled his lungs, and then he died.

Right on cue, my body forced me to inhale.”

Can you tell us a little about Fate (Annabelle’s Story Parting Words)?

I’d love to. Fate is a unique part of the series. Not only is it sold as part of Furthermore: An Anthology – where all proceeds go to further more cancer research – but it also gives readers a different perspective into Annabelle’s Story. Fate deviates from Annabelle’s first-person POV and is told through the eyes of Adrian, Aurelia, Blake, and Lady Katherine.

Sprite (Annabelle's Story, #1) Kin (Annabelle's Story, #2)

Series summary:

Annabelle Walsh thought she had it all. She was the star of her swim team, had a loving family, a great boyfriend, and to top it off, she’d be starting at UCLA in the fall. One day, she’d be referred to as Dr. Annabelle Walsh.

She was living every girl’s dream – until her life was turned upside down. All starting with finding out that she's not just a human, but also a water spirit. Half-human, half-sprite to be exact. Although not just any sprite, Annabelle is prophesied to be the only one who can save both the sprites and mankind.

With a mix of current events, anecdotes from Greek mythology, tidbits of folklore, and Leigh’s own imagination, we join Annabelle in her journey to restore order beneath the sea. Each step of the way her mind, body, and soul are pushed to the limit begging the question, how much can one half-human, half-sprite take?

The Harvesting (Book 1 of The Harvesting Series)
by Melanie Karsak
Published: Sept 18, 2012

“To label this a zombie book would be a false pretense . . . this is so much more than that. What you start out with and what you end up with are very different, and those twists and turns in the middle will make your heart beat faster over and over again.”– Colossal Pop

It’s all fun and games until someone ends up undead.

Though Layla reluctantly returns home to rural Hamletville after a desperate call from her psychic grandmother, she could never have anticipated the horror of what Grandma Petrovich has foreseen. The residents of Hamletville will need Layla’s help if they are to survive the zombie apocalypse that’s upon them. But that is not the only problem. With mankind silenced, it soon becomes apparent that we were never alone. As the beings living on the fringe seek to reclaim power, Layla must find a way to protect the ones she loves or all humanity may be lost.

A well written fast-paced, action-induced read that will have you by the edge of your seat! Get ready for a wild ride and a Kick-a** heroine!

Layla receives a static, filled call from her psychic grandmother to return home asap.

"Layla, Grandma needs you to come home." "Come home now. Be here tomorrow!"

It seems the end of the world has arrived, in the form of an outbreak that turns people into zombies. Now Layla must return home and face this demise that has taken over her grandmother's hometown, and help save the residents before every last one of them becomes undead!

Dealing with this outbreak proves to test Layla, and her abilities as a psychic comes to light. Trying to survive this outbreak is daunting, to say the least, as we learn of other paranormal creatures, that have walked among the humans in secret. What is now even a more daunting task is learning whom to trust, As new alliance have formed, the action picks up full-force.  Layla must save the world and stop the zombies from taking over every last one of the humans, before it's too late.

Not being a huge fan of horror, I always manage to find noteworthy books that although, having horror elements, manage to tell an amazing story with note-worthy characters. The author will draw you in and have you turning pages right up until the end. She even manages to throw in romantic elements, and curve balls along the way. Fans of Paranormal, Horror, and of course Zombies will be excited to read this book, and continue with the series. Be warned though, some parts of this book will not be for the faint of heart. It does have it's share of gore!

“I think talking helps,” she murmured almost instantly regretting that statement. He could ask her a million and a half things that she had no desire to discuss. She knew he was curious about her, but she was hesitant to share too much information about herself. What she could share—what she had shared so far—was barely scratching the surface.
He would find out eventually the kind of person she had once been. She knew it was inevitable. If Ramsey had any knowledge of what had occurred between her and Jack in her past, he didn’t act like it. And for now, at least, she wanted to keep it that way.
“I think talking can be helpful,” he agreed, “but not right now.” He shot her a quick smirk his green eyes glowing. “For now, I’m on a date with a beautiful woman, and I should be enjoying that.”
“Oh, you think we’re on a date, do you?” Lexi asked playfully crossing her arms over her chest and giving him a devilish grin.
“Is this not what this is?” he questioned, taking a step towards her.
“Well, I don’t know. Are you going to take me out to dinner?” she asked him following his lead and stepping into him. “Sweep me off my feet? Walk me to my doorstep and give me a lingering kiss good night?” She arched one perfectly shaped eyebrow.
Ramsey leaned into her, pulling her body close to him. He dipped his head down close enough to huskily whisper into her ear, “Can I give you a lingering kiss on my doorstep and convince you to make it more than linger?”

My emotions were taken for a ride in the first book of this series Avoiding Commitment, see my review HERE. This second book of the series was not as emotionally draining but had me cursing, and pissed off, to say the least!

Where to begin???  If you read the first book of this series, you already know the history of Lexi and the turmoil this girl has gone through, especially with the one constant in her life -->Jack but in this book Jack takes a back seat in Lexi's life as she seems to be slowly letting go of him,  and letting him live with his choices of getting married to the "Witch"--Bekka. But, that doesn't mean she is 100% out of his life, she just seems to be moving on, slowly but surely. Moving on with the person who seems to be everything she needs in life, someone who loves her and treats her way better than Jack ever did.

Ramsey, is just that man, alright so he just so happens to be Bekka's brother, strange, I know. But, he is the complete opposite of the "Witch" in every way.  This book sends us off in the direction of these two, and their relationship over the course of the past year. After Lexi left, Atlanta, over a year ago, and basically got b*tch slapped by the "Witch", she all but lost it, but Lexi is stronger than that, I mean she was emotionally spent but she did manage to pick herself up, and start a relationship with the sexy, Ramsey. Long distance at times, their relationship is far from being perfect, but the one thing that seems constant is the love Ramsey has for her.

It seems like Lexi wants to make this work with Ramsey, trying her best not to think about Jack and the impending wedding, but she does have setbacks and can't help herself from thinking about him, but this book is not about Lexi and Jack, it's more about Ramsey and Lexi and watching their relationship grow over the past year. The mistakes they make, and the lies that seem to threaten their relationship.

OK without going into everything that happened let me just express how I felt about this book.

Remember in the first book I was HATING Jack, Loving Him etc, "THEN I FREAKIN WANTED TO SMACK HIM. WICKED.HARD"  Well, this is what I wanted to do to Lexi in this book WTF!! She was driving me crazy at times, I was like really, Lexi, How can you of all people, just sit there and put Ramsey on the spot, over, and over again about his past and lies, but you of all people couldn't tell anyone the truth about your past with Jack?? WTF, am I missing something here?

I mean I love Lexi and all her faults, she seriously slayed the "Witch" at the end and I hope she can put Jack out of her head from here on out.

This book was good, and it felt like I was reading a soap opera unfold. With Ramsey's past relationship coming out of the woodwork in this one, we see what he's been keeping from Lexi, but really, with all the build up I felt it would of been far worse. Lexi grows in this book, and is doing a fine job at times, especially since her BFF, Chyna is mia  through out most of tis book--I missed her, but glad she made an appearance here and there, and I'm so glad she was there at the end for Lexi. She needed the support for Jack and the "witch's" wedding. KA, did a great job at holding my attention with this book, I enjoy her writing style and CANNOT wait for Chyna's book Avoiding Intimacy 2.5. I hope KA brings us more from this series...
