Tangled (Tangled, #1)

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

A fantastic debut by this author! A turn pager with a realistic male POV, with a great, humorous insight to the male mind! I'm looking forward to more reads from this author!!

Holy crap, what did I just read?? I've been hearing buzz about this book and have been watching it climb up the charts, so after reading some really great reviews, I took the plunge and purchased Tangled and read it within 48 hrs. Tangled is a fun, funny, book about a male "stud" finding unexpected love, but love doesn't come easy for this guy, nope he actually has to work at it this time.

Drew was certifiable! He had a great "male voice" and was actually talking directly to you, the reader. Sometimes I would even answer him 0.o He enlightened so many male mysteries for me. Why, and how a guy looks at sex and females was surprisingly funny and spot-on. Drew is a character you won't soon forget.

Drew, Drew, Drew!! Your a typical male! Always thinking about sex and who your next conquest will be. Drew is a ladies man. He's successful, professional, and enjoys working the town with his buddies. Out on the prowl he sets his sights on a lovely figure, Katherine Brooks. She's out with her girls, and knows the type of guy Drew is. He opens up to her about where he works and you just know that she is hiding something over that news. Well it turns out, Katherine is hiding a secret and Drew finds out this beauty is the newest co-worker in his family investment business. He never mixes business with pleasure, although he wants Katherine in the worst way, and finds it very hard to resist her. They work together over a project and Katherine holds her own as a rookie in the company. She also holds her own when it comes to Drew, and constantly puts him in his place. What Drew doesn't know is Katherine is in a long term relationship, and even though he goes against his own rule and works his charm, Katherine turns him down. When push comes to shove and the constant pressure that comes in the form of Drew Evans, Katherine finds it harder and harder to hold out against him, but will he really win her over, and make her his, or will she stay in a relationship that has been about a decade strong, but slowly falling at the seams? Read it and see! Drew will go to extremes for Katherine.

The author did a fantastic job at making Drew's male voice realistic, I actually thought this was a male author, as his POV sounded just like a male. How she was able to crawl into a guys head and dissect all of the reasons male's are what they are and how they look at females, and sex was truly a gift. I came away with a better understanding toward how a male  thinks and how he looks at sex and females.

4.5/5

“The point is, when you ask, “What do you want for dinner?” we’re thinking about screwing you on the kitchen counter. When you’re telling us about the sappy film you watched with your girlfriends last week, we’re thinking about the porno we saw on cable last night. When you show us the designer shoes you bought on sale, we’re thinking how nice they would look on our shoulders.

I just thought you’d want to know. Don’t shoot the messenger”

“My mother always told me, “Anyone worth doing, is worth doing well.” Okay, she didn’t actually say those exact words, but you get the picture.”

“It’s simple guy logic: If a woman is angry? It means she cares. If you’re in a relationship and a chick can’t even be bothered to yell at you? You’re screwed. Indifference is a woman’s kiss of death. It’s the equivalent of a man not interested in sex. In either case—it’s over. You’re done.”

For all those ladies out there who are listening, let me give you some free advice: If a guy who you just met at a club calls you baby, sweetheart, angel, or any other generic endearment? Don't make the mistake of thinking he's so into you, he's already thinking up pet names.
