When they meet Bethany, Jace begins to feel things he’s never experienced before: jealousy, and a powerful obsession that threatens him, overwhelms him—and excites him beyond control.

Jace isn’t sharing Bethany—with anyone. He’s determined to be the only man in her life, and it’s jeopardizing a lifelong friendship with Ash. Bethany will be his and his alone. Even if it means turning his back on his best friend

Breathless Series

Rush  #1
Fever #2
Burn  #3

Rush (Breathless, #1)Fever (Breathless, #2)Burn (Breathless, #3)

A tantalizing, erotic romance! Miss Banks words flow effortlessly in this next installment of the Breathless series.

Fever is the second book in the Breathless trilogy by Maya Banks, but can be read as a stand alone.

Fever, was a different direction then Rush, the first book in the series. While Rush was darker and had many more erotic scenes, Fever was softer, a more of a Cinderella feel to it. Now, don't get me wrong there was tantalizing erotic scenes, but Jace the main character had a softer side to him than Gabe.

Three men, all successful, best friends, and basically family to each other. Gabe is now taken, he is smitten with Mia, Jace's sister. So that leaves the two studs, Jace and Ash. These two are close, so close in fact they share their woman. Both men are bachelors, and studs in fact. They meet woman and thrive off of threesomes.
Having spending an enjoyable time at Gabe and Mia's party, Jace, notices a server at the party. Of course, Ash is more than ready to approach this girl, knowing that they need and want a warm, female body to entertain their night. Jace is on board, but seems to be indifferent about this girl.

As Ash works his magic, Jace is quiet, and can't stop staring at this girl. His feelings seems to be stirring, and of course he is eager to get back to his apartment. but he's not sure he wants Ash involved with this "score". Bethany the server, is shocked, but drawn to the men. She agrees to go with them, and they have a pretty darn good night. An Ash and Jace sandwich sounds good to me ;) but, Jace seems jealous over Ash being with Bethany, and tension is building in Jace's mind as he tries to figure out why this woman has him feeling emotions he's never felt. When morning comes, Jace is thrown for a loop, as he wakes to not finding Bethany in his bed, and having no idea how to find her. He is enraged that she has gone and pulls out all stops to locate this mysterious woman.

Bethany is not what one would imagine as capturing the eye of Jace. She comes from a total opposite circumstance then Jace and lives a sad, hard life. She knows she needs to do whatever it takes to survive, while realizing the men she was with last night was great, but so out of her league.

What ensues is a great story that captured my emotions. Jace  has layers that will be peeled away, and we learn he is a truly, worthy man. Bethany is shocked by the way her life is slowly being tilted and she, try as she might has a difficult time with all of her surroundings. You will fall for Jace and is sweet emotional side, that only recently comes out with finding his soulmate.

Pretty Woman fans will enjoy this erotic read. As well as readers who enjoy a great story, mixed with highly erotic and emotional reads. Miss Banks has a winning series on her hands and I'll be highly anticipating what magic she'll work up with Ash's story in Burn, the third in the Breathless Trilogy.

4.5/5
