But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried
A fast-paced, story that will have you from the first pages. Filled with sarcasm, humor, and a sexy bad boy, that will have you wishing he popped up on your doorstep!
Dante starts off this book in a totally cocky, arrogant way, but not in a total jerky way. He comes across as one of those guys who think they are it, but you can't hate this guy, no matter what he says.
Dante is a demon, a living, walking, collector of souls. He works for the big man, no, not the good one the totally demonic one. His job is simple, yet complex. Do something bad and you get a piece of your soul marked, and basically the devil wants your soul, so the more bad humans do, the better for the devil, and in turn the better for Dante. Being a soul collector seems like the ideal job, you get great perks, and I mean come on, your immortal! But, Dante wants more, he wants a promotion, and the only way to get it is to collect the most souls. His "boss" the big one wants him to collect the soul of a seventeen year old girl, named Charlie, sounds simple enough, right? Well...
Charlie doesn't make it easy for Dante. I mean she really isn't making it hard for him per se, but she's a good person, and if Dante wants to collect her soul, he's going to have to get this naïve, sweet girl to do some bad things, to be able to mark her. Charlie is sweet, but like I said she's naïve and basically a dork. She's not the prettiest, girl, and she is definitely not popular. She has heart, and has been through a rough time in her young life. She's very forgiving, but kind of slow at times on the up take.
One thing Dante was not expecting was how this girl, is slowly mixing up his feelings. Like ice being chipped away with a hammer, Charlie seems to be breaking down his exterior, and she does it so naturally, it's screwing with Dante's head, big time. With Dante on a time frame of only ten days to collect this girl soul, it proves to him, this won't be as easy as it looks, and she may be the first person to throw a monkey wrench in his plans, for ever. Plus, throw in some mysterious elements surrounding this girl, and why it seems Dante has a collector basically stalking him, and screwing up his game. Makes for some exciting reading as you'll be trying to figure out the pieces of this puzzle.
The author, Miss Scott did a good job at enveloping you into the story. It's fast paced, and will have you finishing the book within a day or two. Her characters are likable, and have a way of getting under your skin. As far a young adult reads, this is a fun, lighthearted read that will have you comparing Dante to other characters in young adult books, like Daemon of Obsidian. The only thing that many may find off, is the way these two main characters have little to no spark at first for each other. Dante comes off as a jerk at times, and says some crude things, but as his walls start crumbling we see bits and pieces of the good that still lies under his demonic skin.

The Liberator Dante Walker #2
Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.
When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.
With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves

About the Author
I'm a YA writer represented by Laurie McLean. Author of THE COLLECTOR (Entangled Teen, April 2013) and THE BRIMSTONE BLEED (Scholastic, 2014). I have a master's degree in marketing, and live in Dallas with my husband. When not writing, I can be found munching cotton candy and snuggling obese cats.
The sexy bad boy in a book filled with sarcasm and humor sounds right up my alley.
