Reckless (Thoughtless, #3)Reckless (Thoughtless #3)
Paperback, 544 pages
Published March 5th 2013 by Gallery Books
*purchased copy*

Can love survive when life gets Reckless? When the band hits it big, Kiera and Kellan must ask themselves: Can their love for each other withstand the constant pressures of superstardom? The friendships they’ve formed, the new family they’ve found, and the history they’ve forged will all play a part in helping them navigate the turbulent waters of the band’s exploding popularity. A greedy executive hell-bent on success, a declining pop star looking for an edge, and a media circus that twists lies into truths are just some of the obstacles the lovers will have to overcome if they are going to remain together. Fame comes with a price—but will it cost Kiera and Kellan everything?

Reckless, hmmm... where do I begin? Sometimes, it's so hard to express love. Love, is a strong word and I choose it wisely. I can honestly say without a doubt I LOVE THIS SERIES! I enjoyed the ride, the ups and downs of Kiera and Kellan. The way their relationship was portrayed over the three books in the series was fantastic. I am so glad I decided to take a chance with this series, having only been my second read Contemporary Romance/New Adult, I can honestly say I'm a fan of this genre so much now, and I owe all the credit to this series!!

Kiera and Kellan are "together, together" in this book. They are finally spending all their time together as a couple. Sure, Kiera graduated college,  and Kellan is on the road to having a successful career as the frontman of The D-Bags rockband. But, in this book, they are spending all their time as a couple on the road and exploring what life is like as a couple with the craziness of traveling and putting on concerts. Keira decides she wants to write, while on the road. She wants to write about everything that happened since meeting Kellan. So basically it's like she is writing the three books in this series.

As D-Bags start to hit it big, with new ventures, and success, this book hits it home as a turning point for this couple. Can they survive being together with all the craziness that comes with this success? D-Bags finally seem to hit it big, but of course with being any kind of star comes pitfalls, that come in the form of record exes., fans, paparazzi, CrAzY fans, and oh yea, a highly successful, sexy,  star, Sierra, who craves the limelight everywhere she goes, and will do anything to keep her star shining.
This puts a niche in their relationship, and tests them daily.

I loved the direction SC Stephens took these characters on. I was a little worried that I wasn't going to care so much about reading about being on the road, and touring on a bus. But, SC puts such a realness to her story. I literally felt like I was reading an autobiography, and I enjoyed every minute!

Yes, there were some slower parts to this book, but the highlight for me was how Kiera transformed and became more confident, with their relationship. I loved how she put Kellan first, in so many situations. She was strong, stronger than I may have been, given some of the circumstances she had to face. Some of these circumstances were, crazed fans, hiding their relationship, watching Kellan make a sultry, HOT, music video, and swallowing down rumors that were spinning out of control in the tabloids. Linking not her and Kellan together, but Kellan and the highly successful star, Sierra together. What a monkey wrench! Throw that in the mix of their relationship, and I thought they were doomed!!  Kellan was even sexier, and even more romantic to Kiera. Trying to protect her, and making her #1 was always front and center to Kellan. I loved him even more, and loved the way he put her on the pedestal. She was his everything!

The ending felt so complete and magical to me. To see the journey coming to and end, and seeing what becomes of these two, and how Miss Stephens incorporated the secondary characters was perfect. I loved seeing Anna, Kiera's sister, become a mommy, and watching her relationship with Griffin, change. I loved how Denny, Kiera's ex, and Kellan's BFF, was brought back into the mix and was a  great friend to both! I loved seeing Kellan always trying to protect Kiera , even with his own life!!! O.K., I just loved everything about it! I would recommend you reading the whole series. Some people, myself included had a hard time with the first book, Thoughtless, but if you can get past that one, then your in for a fantastic story about love. True love, and every step of the wonderful journey, of Kellan Kyle and Keira Allen.

I loved that we could be together, but could be doing our own thing too. We each had our own lives, our own joys, our own friends. We weren't dependent on each other for happiness, but being together sure amplified the feeling.

Growing up, Chyna was handed everything on a silver platter. She never wanted for anything, except love—unconditional love from her parents. Love was a foreign emotion, and watching her parents love/hate relationship was never easy.

So when it came to her personal life, she made sure she never had to relive that. With looks that could kill, it was simple for Chyna to be the love 'em and leave 'em kind of girl. And she had always been okay with it. She would rather be single the rest of her life then end up as miserable as her parents. So when a man rescued her after she was drugged in a night club, she never expected to start a relationship with him.

But one chance meeting changes it all. Chyna is offered a once in a lifetime opportunity that could sky rocket her career, and she is forced to make a decision that could ruin everything.

A great addition to the Avoiding series, KA Linde is becoming a new favorite author of mine!

Let me just start by telling you, I adore KA Linde and her writing style. Yea, I have issues with her characters, and I don't agree with everything that happens, but KA Linde knows how to write and knows how to suck you into her world. I already read/reviewed the first two book in the series. and I was super excited to learn that KA, decided to write a novella, not about the main characters, but about a supporting character, Chyna.

I freaking LOVE Chyna. She's fierce, has her friends backs, and she just f*ckin rocks! I mean she's the type that walks into the room and everyone will stop and look, and she's a beauty, who just doesn't give a sh*t. She's the kind of bff who you want in your group, especially when you go clubbin' --Flasback to my wild days-- Yep, I was a clubbin' chick.  There was a period in my twenties when all I did was live and breathed the nightlife, so yea, having a chick like Chyna, in your group is a bonus.  But, let's get back to the book.

The last book in the Avoiding series has Chyna  jet setting off to Milan to model, for an elite designer. She doesn't need the money, because she has enough of it, she's doing it more to A. Pacify her parents B. To Hook-up with the hottie designer.  C. and maybe to get away from a break-up with her bf, whom just happens to be someone who Chyna has fallen for, which never really happened before. See Chyna is the female version of a typical male, bed em and throw em out. Now, I wouldn't consider her a slut -nope I could totally accept her and her lifestyle. So, she just had a sudden break-up with her bf, Adam. Adam is sweet, and totally not chyna's usual type. Well, like I said Chyna doesn't do relationships, so this is a first for her. She's not used to being with one guy, and all the stuff that goes along with relationships, but she's trying, and she's willing to let all the other guys go. UNTIL,  a misunderstanding ensues and Chyna is done, and off to Milan, where she becomes the star of the show, for the hot Milan designer, Marco. Not only a star on the runway, but also in his bed. Milan seems to bring the old Chyna back, but she misses NYC, and her BFF, Alexa, and maybe Adam.

Without spoiling the rest, I can tell you I liked this addition to the series. The sex was HOT, but I never really connected w/ Marco and Chyna.
I liked learning about what happened with Chyna during the last book Avoiding Responsibility. I missed her in AR, as she was barely in that book. So, this book talks about what she did in alternating chapters of what happened before/during/after Milan.
Loved the ending!! I also must comment on the cover, because this is how I saw Chyna.

Happily ever after doesn’t come easy. But for love, it’s always worth the fight.

Olivia finds bliss unlike any she’s ever known in Cash’s arms. He sets her skin on fire and melts her heart right inside her chest. Unfortunately, their happily ever after is short-lived when a shadow from Cash’s past threatens to turn their world upside down.

Dangerous people from his father’s world have discovered that Cash holds information that could put them away for a very long time. And they’re willing to do anything—and hurt anybody—to get it back. Giving it up means Cash must choose between the life of his father and the life of Olivia.

Having nearly overcome her wariness of bad boys, Olivia’s trust is shaken when this new threat arises. Now she finds that Cash is not only a danger to her heart, but his family has associations that are a danger to her life as well. She soon discovers that there are some situations in life where trust is a girl’s only option. And this is one of them. If she’s to live, she must trust Cash with her life. But to Olivia, that’s much, much easier than letting go and trusting him with her heart

A total game changer. Up To Me DID NOT live up to the excitement and sexiness as the first book, but it was still an enjoyable read!

Alright... let's just do this, Cash and Olivia are back, and with them comes danger. Danger in the form of Russian mobsters, kidnappings, and threats.
I know weird right That's just it, I kind of felt dooped with this book. I was looking for this to be a high romance, little action with some awesome smexy scenes.

Instead we get action, that bored me at times, and a little romance which saddened me, cuz' I really love Cash and when he's on he's on, he just wasn't "on" for me in this book. I mean when I first read Down To You, I was swept away by the romance, sexy scenes and overall bantor among the characters.  In this one I was indifferent about it. I missed those hot and heavy scenes, we do get a few and the one at the end of the book was steamy, but I just think it was a lot less smexy.

I mean don't get me wrong it's a good book, with action, kidnapping, SURPRISES, and a new hottie-->Gavin, but overall I just had a hard time with it. I mean it just didn't carry the same spark and excitement as the first book. I wanted to feel the heart-pounding emotions I felt with the first book. I wanted to feel excitement with the characters, I mean there was excitement, and sexiness, and LOL moments, but I just think the action could of been more heart pounding, you know, the kind that makes you hold your breath, the kind where when your trying to get to the person you "love" and your desperate, aching for them, emotions needed to run higher. It took me a lot longer to finish this second book in the series, but I did and I did like it I liked the surprise's,  Gavin, and when the book was more character driven with interaction between all the characters.

.

Will I continue with this series? -YES
Do I still love M Leighton? -Hell Yes!!
Do I wish she brings back the steam and heat? HELL YES!

My overall gripe, I think I was expecting something different. Maybe it's just me, I mean some people LOVED this book, and others felt like I did. Having chatted on Goodreads about it makes me feel I may not be the only one who missed the romance.

Did you read this book? What were your feelings? Do you think I just missed the mark on this one?

And, did you read a book that was a total 180 degrees different from the first in a series, and wished it were better or the same as the first, as far as the storyline goes?

Stranger Delight

Stranger Delight
Kindle Edition, 18 pages
Published July 31st 2011

Claire moved around to the side of the house to watch her best friend Samantha make love to her boyfriend. Mesmerised by the scene in front of her she didn't notice the stranger who snuck up behind her.

And when the stranger started to caress and fondle her she didn't ask him to stop, in fact she begged him for more.

After having one of the most intense sex sessions that she ever had she turned to find the stranger had already left.

Who was he? Would she ever see him again? And why did she feel so guilty?

Free as of 1/18 Reg. Price .99

This was a really quick read but, I really enjoyed the authors writing style and even though I was thrown at first when I read the first few pages, I mean having sex with a complete stranger while standing outside your roomates window, watching her have sex sounds really HOT,
but Claire didn't even know who this guy was!! -

"Don't turn around," he whispered
Claire let out a gasp, but continued to watch Samantha through her bedroom window.
"You like watching them don't you," he said
Claire tried to pick up the voice but couldn't tell from the whisper.
"I guess," she said
"Who are you?" she asked. "Shh. Not important right now."

He just came up from behind her and started fondling her, then started pounding her!!!

I know weird right? Soooo, not what I would of done, no matter HOW MUCH I DRANK, but
I may have dreamed about it, though....  *blushes*

Now, that Claire has been satisfied, going back to the party has left her with the question of Who was that mysterious stranger? Looking around she spots someone she has never seen before and assumes it's this "drop dead gorgeous stranger", that just satisfied her.

He was drop dead gorgeous with dark wavy hair. His eyes were also dark, and she could see the outline of a chiseled torso through his tight t-shirt. Her heart skipped a beat.

Without spoiling the rest for you. I'll just say Claire does finally find out who took care of her, outside that window, and let's just say they continued with their HOTNESS!

This was a pretty good, really quick read, that left you with a higher temp. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to more from this author. I really felt the author did a great job  telling the story with so little pages!

Hot, Rocker, hmmm. yes please!

Short novella that is a  great start to the Devoured series!

This novella is told in dual chapter pov's between our two main characters. The hot, rocker who comes across as total bad ass, and sometimes full of himself, and the sweet, innocent, wardrobe worker who catches his eye. This novella is intense and hot!

Sienna Jensen, is in college and interning as a wardrobe girl. She catches the eye of Lucas Wolfe, the lead singer of a rock band during a photo shoot. He instantly wants her, but she is not ready to fall for his antics, even though she feels the connection between these two right away.

Lucas Wolfe, lead singer of a rock group, uses woman and throws them to the curb when he's done with them, but this time Lucas is smitten by Sienna, even though they just met, he can't stop thinking about what he wants to do to her... and although he gets his chance things take an unexpectful turn for the worse and he loses her.
After a year he still can't get her out of his mind, and decides to hunt her down, by going to her home state and wishing for the best, even though he has no clue where she is.

This novella gives a slight insight to how these two characters met, and the heat they feel. Lucas comes across as a typical bad boy rocker, and just want to F*** everything in site, including Sienna, but it seems like she may hold the key to changing him. I can't wait to see where the author takes these two, and will be continuing with the series.

Quotes

“I won’t hurt you.” His breath caresses my earlobe, my neck, and my bare shoulders. When he pulls back, the corner of his mouth is upturned. “At least not in a way that won’t make you come all over my bed.”

“I need to devour you.”
Those words manage to knock the air right back out of my lungs, and my head spins as one of his hands skims around my body. He splays it across the small of my back, pulling me closer to him, and leaning over until his lips are a centimeter from my collarbone.
“Sienna?” he growls, and I murmur to acknowledge him. “I’m going to taste you.”

Madison Daniels has worshipped her brother's best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic. 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can't stop bickering.

Forced together for her brother's wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they're forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of "accidents" as the family tries to prove their "spark" can be used than for more than fighting. That is, if they don't strangle each other first…

Tempting the Best Man was a quick, fun, hot, read, that I found to be highly relatable and enjoyable.

 Let's find out why...

Your the maid of honor at your brothers wedding. Your at a week long family get together for the wedding, at a beautiful location, staying in a less than stellar cabin. Oh, and of course your brother's best friends are there, the same best friends that you grew up with-- the same ones that you followed around and was more of an annoyance to them, but they accepted you. Of course these best friends are brothers, and can I mention HOT! One of them is the Best Man, and you've been crushing on him since you were a kid, but of course he WILL NOT pursue you, your, your brother's kid sister. Off limits! But your not a little girl anymore! So when your thrusted together with the man you've wanted, for. like. ever. Feelings start to consume you, and him as well, and all bets are off when it comes to you and him, but will he take that huge step and fall for you, will he respect your brother, and not go there, and will he change the dynamics of your friendship, ruining it forever, with lust???

Sounds like something you could relate too, right? Even though for me it wouldn't because I'm the oldest and my brothers friends are way too young for me, but, I could totally get into this story, and the build up of heat, that has been a slow boil for these two. I enjoyed this story and felt that even though it was a short book, J.Lynn aka Jenifer Armentrout did a stellar job writing it. I look forward to reading more from the Gamble brothers...

If you want a quick, read, with heat and passion, and a stud worthy man then look no farther!

Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and--was that a meow?--punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.

Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick...

In her third novel, Alice Clayton returns to dish her trademark mix of silly and steamy. Banter, barbs, and strutting pussycats, plus the sexiest apple pie ever made, are dunked in a hot tub and set against the gorgeous San Francisco skyline in this hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.

Goodreads

Wallbanger was a fun, funny, sexy read that once started I had a hard time putting down, staying up until 4am finishing it. A new to me author that is a new favorite for me. I will be reading more from Miss Clayton!

Caroline Reynolds are lead female character, just moved into a new apartment. She's enjoying the aspect of the move and the apartment. Having unpacked and settled down, she falls asleep but is quickly awakened by an annoying thudding sound, slumbered and confused she thinks it's her cat, but as the thudding becomes louder, she quickly realizes it's her neighbor, and they are having a great time next door. As the thudding continues throughout most of the night, as well as other sexual noises, Carol is amused at what's going on next door and decides to label said female. The next night brings on another thudding episode, but this time with a new female, again a repeat of the following night leads Carol to name this new girl, and while annoyed at staying up throughout most of the night she does find humor in the whole thing.
Another night,  brings on another new female and again a repeat of the thudding as Carol is slowly driven mad by the noise having spent most of the past nights up she is less than amused by her neighbor and finally after putting up with numerous nights of the three females and the constant wall banging, she finally goes off the handle and gets up and starts pounding on his door, freaking out, dressed in a nightie, btw! As her neighbor scrambles to the door, and is kind of upset at being disrupted we finally get a glimpse of this stud..Wallbanger  aka Simon is stunning, and although he finds Carol amusing he also thinks she is a little crazy at disrupting him and his guest. Carol is less than amused, but of course she finds him oozing sex appeal and is instantly attracted to him, but of course she won't tell him that! In her mind he is a man whore and even though he has a smoking hot bod, she treats him like he's nuts!

Simon is much more than a man whore, he is a sucsseful photographer. He is generally warm, and inviting. An overall sense of the whole package, looks, success, and sweetness, he does make  a great friend, and is very easy on the eyes ;)

What ensues throughout the book is humor,  coincidences, and no more wallbanging to Carol's surprise, as Simon and Carol find out they have mutual friends, and we watch as their friendship blossoms and continues to grow throughout the book.

Let me just say I loved this book, it was fun filled, a light read that had a good storyline and kind of reminded me of the tv show Sex In The City(without the snobbishness), as Carol would talk to herself and her cat, she met up with her friends and discussed men, work, etc.. She has a great job, as a designer, and she loves to cook--and Ina Garten is her favorite cook--mine too!! The whole storyline was a win for me and the heat and sexual tension is great, as well as what hotness ensues later toward the ending of the book.
