I'm not sure why it took me sooo long to start reading this book. I actually bought it awhile ago and it's been sitting on the shelf staring at me, so after picking up the second book last week I decided to take the plunge, boy, I'm glad I did!

So, I've heard Angel books don't usually fare well with readers, and maybe in the back of my mind I had those same thoughts. I mean you think Angels and the first thing that comes to mind is.. religion! So, not being a huge fan of "religion" in my books, I hesitate to read them, but this one really has very little religious elements.
Over the weekend, I was absorbed into this book the writing style is great, the book flows well, and the story is a definite page turner, filled with mystery.

We have two main characters, Nora and Patch.
Nora is a young teen, coping with the loss of her father while attending high school, coming home to an almost empty house at times, with a part time housekeeper. Her mother struggles to make ends meet, with a job that has her traveling and working long hours.
So, Nora is a responsible girl, with a great but somewhat ditsy best friend. In one of her classes, she is seated with a boy she barely knows, as she tries to get to know him, he sort of pushes her away with short answers, and snarkiness. Having a hard time, keeping him out her thoughts....

Patch is snarky, sexy, and gets under Nora's skin(to say the least). He seems to show up everywhere that Nora is, but manages to underplay the reason why with snarky one liners or excuses.
 He finds her amusing as she is so easily upset over his comments. It's really hard to tell how Patch feels about Nora, I mean Nora thinks he's cute, but she too, has no idea where she stands with him. I enjoyed these two bantering back and forth.


I loved the mystery that was slowly built up throughout the whole book, Becca's writing style is that of one whom throws crumbs on the pages and you must follow and scoop up, picking up bits and pieces of info along the way. At points of this story it was hard to decipher whom the good from the bad really were, and I actually was questioning everyone, in my mind. Is he the one, is she the one, maybe it's the teacher? Thoughts like that had me gripped within the pages. When we do find out the mystery, its a total surprise at first as maybe who we thought was good, really isn't so good, after all. 


A great book filled with many characters, that you will have no problem following, and enjoying. This book can easily be read as a stand alone, as the ending is wrapped up like a neat little package, but, I soo want to see what happens in the next book, Crescendo,  as Patch and Nora's adventure continues, and we are left wondering if all will be safe with these two, after all the secrets that are revealed at the end of the book.

Amazing!! I fell in love with this book within the first few chapters. I fell for M.Leighton's characters and storytelling abilities and consider myself a new fan!


Madly, a short novella, is a great start to this series! We get a great introduction to the characters and learn they are mermaids.
Madly, the lead female, is a princess, she attends school away from her underwater world, in our human world, alongside her best friends, Jersey, and Aidan (her intended husband).
We learn that her underwater home is in jeopardy, under lock down, and it's going to take the strength and determination of the princess, and those that are on dry land to help her, take down, and recapture, the evil Lore.
Jersey's elder brother Jackson, is Madly's childhood crush. He comes back into the princess's life, sent to protect her and assist her, as he is a Sentinel, a guard to the mer people. and the royals. 
Jackson is sexy! The way he is written in this book has you drooling over him. I instantly fell for his character, and wish he would protect me. Dripping with appeal, Jackson is the kind of character I enjoy, when reading romance books. Take a look at his character picture, I found on M. Madly and Wolfhardt
A perfect continuation, from the novella, Madly. I once again was lost in M. Leighton's story, and fell even harder for her characters, especially Jackson, who is just as swoon worthy in this book as he was in the last...




In Madly and Wolfhardt, the story continues, from the novella, Madly. With the Lore having escaped imprisonment, and unleashing themselves on dry land. Wolfhardt, is the lore species that Madly has to capture, imprison, and take back to her underwater world, as she is the only person left to save her world. Madly, being a royal, has visions about whom Wolfhardt is.
Taken from the fairytale Little Red Riding hood, we learn Wolfhardt is a wolf who needs to go after "Red" but who "Red" is we can only guess?  That's where Madly's abilities takes full center stage, and her visions are clues that are needed to this puzzle. With the help of her friends, and of course Jackson, Madly rises to her full potential, and is soon on the path to capturing the Wolf.

I'm not going to spoil anymore of the whole "wolf" story for you, but what I will say is I loved the whole fairytale aspect that was part of this story. Being a fan of the TV show "Once Upon A Time" this book was a great filler for not having the show around.

Madly and Jackson's relationship is deep on so many levels. We as readers can clearly see the fireworks exploding over these two. Jackson, is smokin' hot and once again, he had me lost in thoughts over his sexiness. He's not a show off or arrogant, he protects her, and will do whatever it takes to protect the whole Mer-community.
 You can clearly see he's in love with Madly, but hides his feelings for her, as well as she loves him, and does the same. Already, their love is forbidden in their world, Royals and Sentinels, protectors of their kind, don't mix. So, when feelings for one another become stronger, I wonder how they will be accepted if they wind up together?

Words, really cannot describe my feelings about this book. You know sometimes when you read a book and it captures you away, and you instantly fall for the story, but have a hard time expressing your feelings for it? Well, that is how I felt about this.
I loved it, and I think alot of it was because of the character Jackson...*swoons* I'm am so happy I decided to join this tour. I actually already ran out and bought the next book in the series, Madly and the Jackal, as the story continues, and I can't get Jackson out of my head. Hopefully, Miss Leighton will continue on with this series and will envelope me with even more adventure and Jackson.

She's none too pleased over her stay in the desert but she is curious about life back in Rifthold, at the Assassin's Keep. Facing Arobynn, the King of Assassin's and her leader, she must come to terms with what he has done to her, but she plots a way of leaving and separating herself from Arobynn.
Getting back into life in the Keep feels strange at first, and seeing Sam again for the first time after three months brings out mixed feelings within her, feelings of jealousy, hate, and maybe a hint of love for him. 

Celaena is quickly thrusted back into the world of her being an Assassin and is yet again sent on another mission, but this time the mission is close to home and as the wheels are set in motion we get a sense that maybe there is something more hidden behind Arobynn's actions, and what his intentions toward Celaena, might be.
This mission takes Celaena and Sam into the depths of the city's underground sewer system, as to find a way into the home of a slave trader, as her mission is to eliminate him. Being in the sewer pipes may prove to be a deadly situation, as all may be loss in Celaena's world.

In this novella, I got a sense of there being an underlining, almost political aspect to Arobynn's actions. We already know he is ruthless, with his assassins, and I can almost get the sense of him being a villain, of sorts,  having an agenda that reaches alot farther than Rifthold.

Sam and Celaena's relationship with each other is clearly become something more and I really enjoy these two being together.
All in all we see a different side to Celaena, not just as an assassin, but a girl who enjoys the different art and cultures of the theater. We also see aside of Celaena that loves her rich lifestyle. Will she be able to truly give up all of her spoiled ways and leave Arobynn, is yet to be seen.

Review: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

Never, in my wildest dreams would I imagine that I would love to read a book about Aliens.
Little green men do nothing for me, but boy, oh boy, Daemon can sure curl my toes...


Katy just moved into a new town with her mom and next door to a hot guy, Daemon and his friendly sister, Dee.
Dee and Katy become fast friends but Daemon and Katy's relationship is like oil and water.
Daemon comes across as a snarky, arrogant ass, but his reasons behind his attitude toward Katy is warranted, as he only wants to protect his sister, and others like him. Secrets about these two slowly unravel as we learn who and what they are, you'll feel totally different about aliens and you just might fall for this story, and a certain alien!


Of course, there is alot more going on with this story than these two, as we learn about Daemon and his enemies, who are constantly after his kind and are ready to destroy them.
This book is full of secrets, and Daemon's coldness toward Kat at first throws you off, but slowly we learn why.
The tension from these two feels like a combustion about to explode.
He saves Katy on many occasions, but, Katy is definitely not a character who just sits around waiting to be saved. She is strong, loyal, brave, and she does her own saving of lives and kicks butt toward the end!



This book was a great YA read. Loved it.
Read it, it will not disappoint!
Twilight fans will adore this.

Review: Gothic Horror at it's best, Amazing!


Miss Frater works magic with her writing, and storytelling ability.
Seriously, she can make you hate the worse character with bile rising within' your mouth,  wanting to tear into the book and strangle the monster within the pages, to actually feeling a tender spot for this unmerciful character.

Lady Glynis Wright a young lady who has reached the age of marriage is a strong, outspoken, feisty, character. 
It's the 1800's, and her parents decide it is time for her to finally marry.
So they set out to visit a suitor, whom will bring Lady Glynis and her family prestige within society, wealth, and luxury.
Count Vlad Dracula invites her family to be guest in his home. A home filled with eeriness and darkness. After visiting for some time the family decides there is too much strangeness, within the Castle walls, and with the Count himself. They decide to leave, and for Glynis not to marry the Count. Of course, that is when things turn for the worse and secrets of whom the Count truly is are unveiled. I don't want to spoil the rest of this part of the story because it is graphic, horror filled, and not for the faint of heart. But, it is a very powerfully written piece, and emotionally charged.  

Vlad Dracula a name of history, horror and is not the sparkly vamp of today, to say the least. He is vile, cruel, and vicious. An impaler whom lives up to his namesake. He unleashes his full fury on Lady Glynis and her family, and will take Glynis as his bride forcefully and inscrutably.
Glynis must now live a tormented life of utter loss and contempt. She must follow the rule of Vlad as his bride. She is not alone at being a bride of Vlad's he has four others, one of which is condemned to a life of torture, because she did not obey Vlad, something Glynis has a very difficult time with doing, as she does not enjoy being submissive. The other brides adore Vlad as their master and do everything in their power to satisfy his desires and needs. As they try to teach Glynis the ways of their master, Glynis, being a strong, outspoken, character is defiant and desires nothing more than to be freed from her captor.

Time goes on and Lady Glynis slowly learns to be submissive, but not because she breaks down, no, she is only plotting ways to rid herself of her husband and the prison of his castle, forever.

Count Vlad, always plotting in his ways wants to become an aristocrat in the English society. Of course he has devised a plan, and it will involve his bride Lady Glynis. He takes her with him as his bride and forsakes the other brides, leaving them behind.

This is the part of the story that becomes even more intriguing and I found myself tearing thru the pages, enjoying the life that they will need to build as a farce to society and wondering how Glynis will escape from Vlad's torments.
I won't spoil the rest for you. I will just say that it is an exciting, thrilling, warped story all at the same time. I fell in love with this story and the author's writing style.

This book is written as a journal of Lady Glynis pov, and as well as a few other characters. Not being a fan of horror, or books with historical elements, I must say I am now, thanks to Miss Frater.
I will most definitely read all of her books, and will be reading the second book in the continuing series The Vengeance of the Vampire Bride.
I must also pay credit to a fellow blogger for introducing me to Rhiannon's work, Giselle, of Xpresso Reads raved about Rhiannon's other books, as well as this one. Her recommendations built upon my curiosity and had me jump into this pool of awesomeness.

Scorching, Passionate, Heated

An erotic, action-fused, turn-paging book!

Kaderin, ruthless, Valkyrie warrior stops at nothing for the kill. Her nickname says it all, Cold Hearted!

My Review
I loved this book as well as the whole series. Frost's writing style will have you absorbed into her world of Paranormal. A must read of all Paranormal Romance readers. A book that will have you staying up late into the night and continue thinking about all day. If your looking for a fun, sexy, hard to put down book/series this is it. You will find yourself falling for one of the sexy vamps in this series. Bones, being my favorite. He is a powerful, funny, sexy, sarcastic Vamp. A true English bloke w/sex appeal, smarts, and sass. Cat and Bones relationship radiates with heat. Cat is a character you can see grow right before your eyes as she learns to become a force to be reckoned with. Their relationship explodes with heat and passion!

Once in awhile a book/series comes along that changes your reading schedule and makes you drop all responsibilities you have. This is the book/series. An action packed thrill ride right from the start.
Frost's writing skill is superb as she weaves a great storyline with flow and finesse and manges to sprinkle funny tidbits of humor. From the first page and beyond you will be turning pages, laughing, loving, and enjoying every page. 5+ stars

Being that I haven't read any of Lynsay Sands other books, I didn't read this short by her, yet. I usually follow a series to the grail.
I read Home For The Holidays by Jeaniene Frost.

 I have to say this short is wonderfully done, a really well written, plot induced story. The flow of this short is crafted with Frost's ability to write stories with characters of the past books and have them come together once again to fight the battles of good verses evil in the Paranormal World.

This short starts off as a surprise birthday party Cat is throwing for Bones. She invites all their friends over to their house to celebrate his birthday party. The friends that we as readers have grown to love. Ian, Spade, his mate Denise, Menchares, his mate Kira, Fabian and his new girlfriend Elisabeth, and Annette all make an appearance in this short.

Annette being late for the party sets off a string of problems for the group. As new faces emerge that will compromise the group and set them on a path toward destruction. A relative of Bones decides to finally make an appearance after centuries of being unknown, and with him comes an evil. An evil that will have the strongest members of the group under a spell. Three members of the group don't fall victim, Ian, Denise, and Cat. Now they must work together and find a way to be rid of the evil forever, and save their friends and loved ones before it's too late. Ian and Cat work together beautifully, and place a plan into motion. To get rid of one evil they must work with another evil of the same species, but can this evil be trusted? Will they be able to save all including Cat's beloved Bones. Will love really conquer all this time, and be strong enough to overcome the possessed...Read it and see how sacrifices are made, and one is lost to the evil forever...
